We are pleased to announce that the 5th Mediterranean Emergency Medicine Congress (MEMC V) will be held in Valencia, Spain between the 14th and 17th of September 2009. The Congress is being organised jointly by EuSEM, the Sociedad Española de Medicina de Urgencias y Emergencias (SEMES) and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM). 13/10/2008 - Take time now to mark your calendar for the Caribbean Emergency Medicine Congress (CEMC) ©, scheduled for January 5-8, 2009, in Barbados.
The Caribbean Emergency Medicine Congress (CEMC)© is a joint educational effort made possible by the University of the West Indies (UWI) and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM).
CEMC© will provide physicians an opportunity to update their knowledge and competence in EM, by systematic exposure to the most recent evidence based literature. Major topic areas in EM such as trauma, resuscitation, pediatrics, undifferentiated life-threatening conditions, toxicology, risk-management and also associated areas such as residency training, faculty development, the development of the specialty and international emergency medicine will be addressed.

‘26/09/2008 - The European Medicines Agency (EMEA) has published a draft 'addendum on atrial fibrillation' (EMEA/CHMP/EWP/352438/2008) to the existing 'note for guidance on antiarrhytmics'.
The document is available here.
The CHMP NfG on anti-arrhythmics (CPMP/EWP/237/95) provides only partial and incomplete regulatory guidance for development of medicinal products for the treatment of supraventricular arrhythmias, in particular atrial fibrillation. This document aims to provide an update and substitute those chapters of the above-mentioned document related to these arrhythmias.
