Mass casualty incidents have become more frequent in recent years. A distressing example was the significant and unexpected increase in sudden cardiac arrests during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The pandemic presented persistent challenges for emergency medicine workers and brought important lessons for healthcare systems worldwide. Furthermore, it highlighted the vital importance of adaptability, preparedness, accessibility to medical resources, efficient team coordination, and collaboration among healthcare professionals.
